POETRY / The window is still waiting / Laura Garrison
The window is still waiting
for the moon. She made
an appointment, but somehow
there’s no one in the sky.
Maybe I should call the store
and ask them to send her
some ice cubes for her birthday.
Lose your mind at your own pace.
We are not going on a date,
but we can still have a funeral.
Laura Garrison lives in Virginia with her husband, children, and cat. She teaches creative writing at Roanoke College and is the editor of Jersey Devil Press.
