I am a sucker for comic book-romance-horror TV drama. Can’t stop binging iZombie on Netflix.
There are five seasons and 72 episodes of this CW show
and before you judge me note
that Olivia Moore is a badass character.
I bought her Funko Pop doll that chills on my
desk next to Buffy and Willow and
Liv is a stylish ridiculously nerdy-yet-cool
doctor monster who is also a hero who solves crimes.
Which might explain why I fell down
similar rabbit holes of Grimm
and Lucifer and The Chilling Adventures
of Sabrina
. (This trope
of immortal in love with mortal
who somehow doesn’t know
there is anything supernatural
going on in front of his/her face
who when they find out the truth
break up and then not surprisingly
end up together after they save the world
from pesky impending apocalypses
on their final episode of the season,
or ever.) And I watch her from my tan bean bag
with my black UGG slippers and camo joggers
eat brainz while looking on point, become the leader
of a human smuggling operation, nab the villains
with her level-headed detective partner
and goofy coroner sidekick.
I pretend to not to know the outcome,
imagine my friends always having my back,
convince myself if you didn’t kill me
when I turn into a zombie
I would totally save the world.
