POETRY / The Doubter Yet Abiding / Richard A. Cross
When someone ascends,
the reluctant illustrate
informing figments.
Outsiders for dread,
venturing by severance,
cast such intrusions.
Selection takes hold.
Their balcony of cables
awaits willingness.
Present to repose,
the doubter yet abiding
suspends unseen need.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Richard A. Cross moved in youth to Tennessee, where he still lives today. Cross graduated from college at Middle Tennessee State University. His alma mater’s online annual, Off Center, published his debut poem in its second issue.
