PHOTOGRAPHY
Readers, Writers, Artists, Thinkers
Rachael Warecki

My goal when taking portraits, especially of people who are devoted to creative work, is to capture the essence of their artistic identities, whether that shines through in their chosen genres or in their inspirations or backgrounds. In addition to coming away from a session with standard author portraits, there are usually one or two more dynamic photos that capture those identities in non-standard ways, and those portraits are usually my favorites -- even if they never show up on the back of a book jacket.

Rachael Warecki is a Los Angeles-based writer and photographer, specializing in portraits of authors and other artists (although she also enjoys taking photos while dangling from helicopters). Her photography work and contact information can be found on her website, and she posts regularly on her FacebookTwitter, and Instagram feeds. When she's not taking photos, she's usually in the audience at various L.A. literary readings.
